The editing process
Abdstrong:
Today I'll be showing you how to edit on Lightroom; don't worry it's pretty simple and straightforward, so let's get right to it.
The raw image is shown above and for the final image I wanted the focus to mainly be on the scrub, the color and how it's pouring out of the container.
The first thing I did was to adjust the size using the Crop Tool so I straightened the image and chose a frame of 4×5 and saved.
Crop
Next up, the light.
I was aiming for a very bright image that would enhance the colour of the scrub so I went to the light tab and moved the slider underneath "Exposure" to 1.10EV, "Contrast" to 46, "Highlight" to -23, "Shadow" to 24, "Whites" to 11 and "Blacks" to 10.
Color
Using the Color Tool, I increased the temperature slider to 4750K, the tint to 10 and Vibrance to 73 to make the pink color brighter and decreased the saturation to -30.
Details
To get a very detailed image, I increased the sharpening in the details tool to 86. Lightroom has this very cool feature/ tool called Healing Brush. It is used to erase unwanted things/ mistakes in the background so I used it to erase the stains and crease on the backdrop.
Healing Brush
And viola! Here is our perfectly edited image.
Lightroom may seem impossible to master, but if you experiment with the sliders and practice editing regularly, you'll get the hang of it in no time.
